How is Opay different?
Opay is not just a checkout plugin — it is a central clearing OS for cross-border commerce.
Traditional gateways only move money in. Funds sit at the processor; withdrawals are slow and FX is costly. Opay closes the loop:
- Multi-channel acquiring → unified Opay Ledger
- Ref-IDs for payments & refunds; millisecond ledger search
- Risk Tier–based release of Spendable Balance
- Spendable balance powers Visa Business Cards with Remote Authorization on every swipe
- Skip bank withdrawal → FX → ad-card top-up chains
Cross-border WooCommerce merchants with meaningful AOV, paying Meta/Google ads and SaaS monthly.
Quick start
- Register at opay.com.hk/login (email + password)
- Complete Opay Connect KYC in the merchant portal
- Start collecting after KYC; card issuing requires Risk Tier upgrade
- For WooCommerce: install Opay Connect, generate plugin API key in Settings
Merchant portal (password) = human dashboard. WordPress plugin (API key) = connects your store server to Opay — generate the key only when installing the plugin.
Merchant portal
Sign in at /login with your email and password.

WooCommerce plugin
Opay Connect runs on your WordPress site and links the store to your Opay ledger.
- Install WordPress + WooCommerce
- Upload and activate Opay Connect
- Merchant portal → Settings → generate API key; copy Merchant ID
- WP: Settings → Opay Connect — API URL, API Key, Merchant ID
- Storefront: My Account → Opay Wallet for balance & Connect status
Ledger sync and balance display; shortcuts for Connect and cards. Collections flow through Opay Connect into the central ledger.
Risk Tier & spendable balance
L0–L3 tiers balance capital efficiency vs chargeback risk.
| Tier | Credit split | Cards |
|---|---|---|
| L0 New | 100% pending (T+7) | No issuing |
| L1 Standard | 50% / 15% reserve / 35% pending | Issuing (daily cap) |
| L2 Trusted | 90% / 10% reserve | Issuing |
| L3 Circuit break | All pending | Frozen |
L0→L1: 30 days, volume/count gates, zero disputes, manual review. L1→L2: 90 days on L1.
Card authorization checks Spendable Balance minus open dispute exposure.
Visa Business Card
Approved spendable balance can be issued as virtual Visa Business Cards for ads and SaaS.
- Complete Connect KYC → active
- Upgrade to L1+
- Portal → Visa Business → issue card
- Every charge authorized in real time via Remote Authorization
All cards share one merchant ledger and L1 daily velocity cap.
